Your Tickets

As a consequence of the global COVID-19 situation and the strict travel and public gathering guidelines, we have taken the regrettable and difficult decision to postpone the 12th Sydney International Piano Competition to a later date – to be advised. The competition will no longer proceed as planned on 8 – 25 July 2020; nor the national capital city tour in July/August or the winners’ return concert in October.

Like everyone else in the world, we have suddenly had to pause, pivot and set our sights on rescheduling the competition when the COVID-19 situation is under control. We are working hard to find new dates with all our stakeholders; at this point it is likely to be in 2021. We have been very well supported with donations and ticket sales to date. For all that, we deeply and sincerely thank you for all your efforts and support. We will stay in touch with any new information as soon as we possibly can.  

 

YOUR TICKETS  

As you could imagine, this situation places enormous strain on The Sydney – as on all arts organisations that rely on you, our generous patrons, to make what we do possible. We would love you to stay with us and retain your booking for the new dates to come!

Please consider one of these three options:

  1. Retain your booking

    We would love you to stay with us and you don’t have to do anything. The Sydney Opera House will automatically hold your current ticket booking and be in touch to transfer these to the new dates once known. If the rescheduled dates don’t suit your calendar you can ask for a full refund at that time.

  2. Donate the value of your booking

    You could cancel your ticket booking and donate its value to the Sydney International Piano Competition. You will receive a tax deduction receipt for each gift over $2.   3. Refund in Full | Choose this option before 31 July 2020

    If you would like a full refund of you ticket booking, including booking fees paid, in the next 30 days (potentially longer for international bookings) please email the Sydney Opera House to request this. Click here to email
