Jonathan Fournel began his music studies at the Conservatoires of Sarreguemines and Strasbourg and the Musikhochschule of Saarbrücken, before entering the Conservatoire de Paris, where he graduated with a Master’s degree and a Performer’s Diploma.

 

Jonathan is regularly invited to perform in festivals such as La Folle Journée de Nantes, La Roque d’Anthéron and the Gstaad Menuhin Festival & Academy. Recent concert highlights have included engagements with the Orchestre du Conservatoire de Paris, Brussels Philharmonic, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra, and seen him play in the famous Salle Cortot in Paris, Gustav Mahler Auditorium in Milan and Royal Glasgow Concert Hall.

 

Since 2016, Jonathan has been an Artist-in-Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium, under the direction of Louis Lortie and Avo Kouyoumdjian. He has collaborated in masterclasses with distinguished pianists such as Laurent Cabasso, Aldo Ciccolini and Jean Micault. As an avid chamber musician, he has performed with the Hermès Quartet and Modigliani Quartet.
